Energy Saving Trust Scotland – Market Analysis

TADEA Ltd was commissioned by Energy Saving Trust Scotland to produce a detailed market analysis of Scottish housing stock. Based on survey data collected by Energy Saving Trust Scotland, TADEA analysed 300,000 reports using geographical information systems (GIS) and other in-house data systems. Demographic information, energy consumption data were incorporated into the report, which detailed target areas for insulation and renewable energy promotion.

The report was used to inform marketing and on the ground operations throughout the Scottish Energy Saving Trust advice centre network and the project culminated in a summary report which was used by the Scottish Government.

"We were looking for some quite detailed market analysis which combined complex data sets and provided a means of prioritising where we should target our resources most cost effectively. TADEA were able to carry out that analysis in a very logical and accessible manner, backed up with good numerical and graphical representation of the combined data to help us effectively target our audience. Equally as important they were able to clearly identify areas where extrapolating the data was likely to yield erroneous conclusion and we should gather more data before committing resources."

Quality Checking for Insulation Works

As part of TADEA Ltd’s insulation project management services we undertake an independent  minimum 5% quality audit of all our project managed installations. All properties are assessed to ensure the installations meet the highest industry standards.

Cavity wall installations are borascopePhotobucketd, with drill patterns and recementing of drill holes checked. A customer satisfaction questionnaire is completed with the householder.

We would be delighted to talk to you about utilising this service for your projects.

SAP Calculations

TADEA Ltd is able to produce SAP calculations for all your projects. We recently assisted Cosyseal Insulation Company with their SAP calculations for Riverside Housing.

Paul Gaffney, Cosyseal Managing Director, said: "The arrangement we have with TADEA meets our client needs and is extremely cost effective. We are happy with our partnership arrangement and the quality of information TADEA provides."

TADEA Ltd has undertaken HECA reporting for Middlesbrough Council, Darlington Borough Council, and Hartlepool Borough Council. The simple methodology utilises known co-efficient  values for completed measures. This method enables TADEA to deliver a cost effective solution with a clear audit trail of completed energy efficiency works for our client.

Feasibility Studies

TADEA Ltd is able to project manage feasibility studies for domestic energy efficiency products. These projects range from Solid Wall insulation to the integration of a number of different renewable energy and heating control solutions.Photobucket

We have recently undertaken a project on behalf Fabrick Housing group entitled, ‘Elderly Eco-Homes’.

Within this project we acquired funds through the Technology Strategy Board’s Retrofit for the Future Competition to undertake feasibility studies to significantly reduce the carbon footprint of the properties in question.

During the project we undertook smoke and air pressure testing to review air tightness and our recommendation of measures included draft proofing, intelligent heating controls, air source heat pumps and solar integration. The conclusions of the study showed that the homes could be taken from a SAP below 40 up to 72 and reduce the carbon footprint of the property by 60%.

Production of Best Practice Publications

TADEA Ltd, has assisted the Energy Saving Trust in the production of its Area Based Approach best practice guide. This was accomplished through the secondment of TADEA Ltd’s Business Development Manager, Dan Ludgate.

Dan said: "We have been delighted to share our experience of delivering and partnering many area based approaches for energy efficiency with the Energy Saving Trust in the production of this guide.

"The Energy Saving Trust has produced the guide and tools in order to stimulate and catalyse new area based approaches, allowing organisations to get up to speed quickly on the back of the information provided by partners during its production.

"The guide has already been warmly received by a number of Local Authorities and we hope to see some new projects delivering savings in the near future."

Advice services for Registered Social Landlords

TADEA Ltd is able to provide advice on energy efficiency for your housing stock. We can source products, access supply chains for renewable energy, identify and apply for funding opportunities, undertake analysis of housing information to identify opportunities and project manage delivery.

Completion of funding applications on behalf of partners

Sometimes there may be a number of funding opportunities that your organisation wishes to bid for, but perhaps you do not have enough resources to do them justice. If the objectives of the funding match ours, and we have the resources available, we may be able to assist you on a ‘no-win, no-fee’ basis.

Recently we have worked with North East Procurement to secure £850k of additional investment under the Homes and Communities Agency Social Housing Energy Saving Programme for category 2 & 3 cavity wall insulation.

Ian Brimer, Chief Executive of North East Procurement, said: "We had to work very quickly to put the joint bid together, and the fact that more than 1,600 homes in the region will now benefit from this scheme is a testament to good teamwork."
