Our Services

TADEA provides a range of services to householders, local authorities, utilities and voluntary and private sectors to create greater awareness of climate change and sustainable energy and to promote actions to save energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

These services include free advice to householders, referral to grant and discount schemes and project management on behalf of Local Authorities and funding organisations.

Energy Saving Trust Advice Centre

This service funded by the Energy Saving Trust provides free and impartial advice to all households on energy efficiency, renewable energy and sustainable transport.

Advice is provided through our free phone advice line 0800 512012, through on–line Home Energy Checks available at www.est-ne.org.uk. Postal home energy checks are targeted at specific households through mail-outs and our out reach team provides advice and information across the region at community events.

Last year 80,000 households were contacted by the centre and given specific advice. This resulted in over 100,000 lifetime tonnes of carbon being saved.

Sustainable Energy Network

A central objective of the EST Advice Centre is to create within the region a Sustainable Energy Network (SEN) bringing together all the key organisations in the domestic energy sector to coordinate activity and to ensure maximum effectiveness of projects and campaigns.

The SEN is chaired by the EST Advice Centre Director and is making significant headway towards our objectives of short term carbon savings and long term creation of ‘Low Carbon Citizens’ SEN produces a quarterly newsletter available through www.est-ne.org.uk.

The SEN provides information and reports to the regional energy partnership Energy North East in order to bring together a regional response to Climate Change issues. ENE minutes and terms of reference are available at www.energynortheast.net.

North East Home Insulation Partnership

TADEA/NEHIP photoAn essential and highly important part of the SEN this campaign aims to ‘insulate every home in the North East’.

The NEHIP campaign is backed by the regional Housing Board and its objectives have been built into the next NE Housing Strategy.

A position Statement and Annual report from NEHIP is available at www.est-ne.org.uk.

The campaign was launched in 2006 by Rt. Hon David Miliband then Secretary of State for the Environment

North-East Renewables

As part of our advice service we promote the appropriate and responsible investment in renewable technologies. However in order to meet customer expectations the NE region needs to improve its infrastructure and service provision in this sector.

To encourage and facilitate this we have commissioned a North East Renewables directory. This lists installers and manufacturers of renewable technology active in the region and gives overall advice as to the suitability of technologies in particular settings.

We intend that as this register grows customers and installers will be able to provide feedback and case studies for the benefit of others and that it will serve as a platform to stimulate sensible growth in the industry to meet the needs of the region. The Directory can be accessed via www.est-ne.org.uk or www.est-ne.net.

Hot–spotting and Marketing

Our specialist marketing and tactical staff have developed skills in market analysis, data interpretation and message targeting to ensure the maximum effectiveness of our energy efficiency campaigns.

Through an integrated approach to data handling, GIS presentation, outreach and marketing campaigns we are able to make sure that appropriate messages are received by the most receptive audiences.

As part of the SEN (Sustainable Energy Network) we are able to offer this expertise to your organisation to improve performance to our mutual benefit. Contact dan.ludgate@tadea.com for further discussion.

Insulation Scheme Management

TADEA has extensive experience in managing and delivering home insulation schemes, and through our strong relationships with utilities and local authorities we are able to develop schemes to suit local needs.

We work very closely with Warm Zones Ltd and will always collaborate to ensure that the most effective use of the skills available through our organisations are brought to bear to provide local solutions.

The TADEA Board recently agreed with Warm Zones Ltd the following statement of common purpose:

Strategic Alliance between TADEA Ltd and Warm Zones Ltd

  • Both organisations believe that our aims will be achieved through improvement in the insulation of dwellings across all tenures and that our activities in pursuing our aims are entirely complementary.
  • Warm Zones Ltd and TADEA Ltd have worked together with great success to deliver effective projects in the region and it is the stated intention of both companies that we actively seek future opportunities to collaborate to the benefit of householders and to add value to our respective goals.

Community Energy Solutions are also important partners and we will add value to their local projects through marketing campaigns, data gathering and surveys.

Our close association with the EST Advice Centre means that we can ensure that their free and impartial advice services are always utilised to promote our schemes to bring best value to householders.

Latest Project
