County Durham Hotspots

The Hotspots project is supported by the Energy Saving Trust advice centre, County Durham and Darlington Fire Rescue Service, County Durham Partnership Against Poverty and Durham County Council. This initiative enables health and social care professionals to refer those who may not be able to keep warm by simply returning a Hotspots postcard to us.

The scheme offers energy advice and tips to the vulnerable person, benefit checks, fire safety checks and access to an Emergency Fund where in extreme situations money is needed immediately to provide warmth.
