This insulation will be delivered free of charge by tadea under the Eco-Easterside project. Eco-Easterside is funded by Department of Energy and Climate Change through the Low Carbon Communities Challenge Fund – a low carbon initiative to demonstrate and deliver reductions in carbon emissions within communities.
From Tuesday 4th January 2011, Cosyseal Insulation, a local installer, will be visiting homes in Easterside to offer residents this free insulation and check that properties are suitable for cavity wall and loft insulation. With the weather hitting record lows this winter it’s never been a better time to insulate your home. By installing cavity wall insulation it will not only make your home warmer but save you around £110 per year on your fuel bills. A further saving of around £140 per year could be made by insulating your loft too.
Councillor Julia Rostron, Middlesbrough Council's Executive Member for Community Protection, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for Easterside residents to get cavity wall and loft insulation and enjoy warmer homes and lower heating bills as a result.
"I would urge anyone in Easterside who feels their homes may not have suitable insulation to get in touch with tadea."
